IX Miami World Music Festival
Music Hits from the 80s

Featuring Ed Calle, saxophone & Manuel Gamez, piano
The 1980s (the decade of Excess) saw the emergence of electronic dance music and new wave, also known as Modern Rock. The 80s brought us so much new variety when it came to music along with some brand new genres: soft rock, glam metal, thrash metal, adult contemporary, quiet storm, and smooth jazz gained popularity.

This concert will showcase some of the most remarkable music of the era in an instrumental form. Some of these instrumentals are original creations, while others are adaptations of the classics. The concert features instruments of the time like the synthesizer and the electric guitar.

Grammy-Award winner, saxophone player Ed Calle will join Latin Grammy Nominee Manuel Gamez on the keyboards; Lindsey Blair, electric guitar; Rances Colon, bass; and Adolfo Herrera, drums, and Jose G. Hernandez on the percussion, for an unforgettable evening of the best music hits from the 80s.
